Decreased rehabilitation adherence, physical activity, and quality of life in individuals with idiopathic scoliosis in the COVID-19 Pandemic

Purpose: This study compares the rehabilitation adherence, physical activity (PA) levels, and quality of life (QoL) individuals with idiopathic scoliosis (IS) during before COVID-19 Pandemic. Methods: included 74 IS between ages 9 18 years. The Exercise Adherence Rating Scale (EARS) was used to assess adherence exercise therapy protocols, International Physical Activity Questionnaire Short Form (IPAQ) evaluate PA Scoliosis Research Society-22 Patient (SRS-22) measure QoL. Results: Section B score EARS decreased (p=0.041), while C (p=0.636) summed scores (p=0.54) did not change pandemic. participants (p=0.001), hours sitting increased (p<0.001). While body image, pain, treatment satisfaction change; function, mental health, subtotal, total (respectively p=0.876, p=0.092, p=0.224, p=0.008, p<0.001, p<0.001) decreased. Conclusion: in affected negatively, levels decreased, sedentary behaviors increased, QoL In addition other factors, pandemic period may have negatively process IS. light future studies, it be recommended give importance as well factors
